Parsons
School of Design 57th Annual Benefit and Fashion Show
The
Parsons Design Lab collaboration with Piaggio USA Inc. challenged
senior year students in Fashion Design, to create new concepts
for a lifestyle collection for the Vespa motor scooter, within
the context of 21st century American youth culture. The Vespa
fashion collection will debut at the Parsons Benefit and
Fashion Show.
On May 9th, 2005, at its 57th Annual Benefit
and Fashion
Show, Parsons School of Design, will honor Saks Fifth Avenue
and its Chairman and CEO Fred Wilson. This fundraising event supports
scholarships and academic programs at Parsons, and is the
university's largest and most important fundraising event
of the year. A highlight is a runway show featuring the best work
from Parsons' graduating fashion design students. Some
of Parsons' most celebrated alumni, including Donna Karan,
Marc Jacobs, and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of
Proenza Schouler, have launched their careers on this runway.
