Continental Airlines Employees Become Vespa Scooter “Pilots”

Last week, in a first-of-its-kind pilot event, Vespa, the world’s most recognizable scooter brand, teamed with Continental Airlines at Newark Liberty International Airport to launch an alternative personal transportation program for the airline’s Liberty-based employees. 

On April 24, more than 3,000 regional employees had the opportunity to discover how scooters can help reduce their personal carbon footprints while saving an owner up to $6000 per year in every day transportation costs.  With soaring public transportation prices in the tri-state area, Vespa’s ‘nickle a mile’ operating cost is an especially timely alternative for commuters.

In addition to pocketing more personal savings, Continental employees who shift vehicle miles to scooter miles also help reduce the region’s legendary congestion.
